Meet the Visionaries Behind SoCu Kitchen

Luis Alas, the son of Cuban immigrants, brings a lifetime of global culinary experiences to SoCu Kitchen. After years of service in the U.S. Air Force and as a Federal Air Marshal, his travels exposed him to flavors from across the world, deepening his appreciation for diverse cuisines. Drawing from his mother’s Syrian and Lebanese heritage and his father’s Spanish roots, Luis infuses every dish with tradition, technique, and passion.

Lauren Alas, born and raised in Newnan, Georgia, is the heart behind SoCu Kitchen’s baked creations. Her love for Southern hospitality and baking has led to a mastery of cakes, pastries, and artisan breads that blend warmth with innovation.

Together, Luis and Lauren have created SoCu Kitchen, a fusion of Southern comfort and Cuban tradition, inspired by flavors from across the globe. Their kitchen is more than a place to cook—it’s a canvas for creativity, where tradition meets bold, new ideas.
